The Detroit Pistons have announced new roster moves with the release of both Terrence Williams and Jonny Flynn.

The Detroit Pistons have released Terrence Williams and Jonny Flynn, according to Vincent Goodwill on Twitter. Flynn and Williams both joined the team this offseason in hopes to impress the team and potentially earn a spot on the roster. But the Pistons have 15 players signed to guaranteed contracts, which is enough to fill a roster, and Flynn and Williams stood little chance of making it onto the regular season roster.

Still, the both of them chose the Pistons because they figured they'd get a chance to show their stuff and maybe catch the eye of another team during the preseason. Williams has impressed in practice and the preseason, and he's a very versatile player, but the numbers didn't add up for Detroit.

Williams and Flynn both played with Houston last season and joined the Pistons together, both hoping that they could earn a spot. They knew it would be an uphill battle going in. Both players are very young and have spent a large portion of their early career going from team to team, which is never a good sign.
