So, I know this is not the purpose of this site but I'm terrible at technology and I've noticed a bunch of you guys (not the Canadian) know a thing or two about it.
I need a laptop. I already own a 3 year old desktop that still works great but I need something I can take on my backpack with me. I'm a writer (not really) and my primary use would be that, writing. Next semester I'll be taking clases and I would love to use it on the classroom, put it on my backpack and walk around without trouble or care.
My speficiations are minimal, small in size, light in weight and with Microsoft word or something that is very, very similar in it. I am an animal of habit, I write everything in Times New Roman 12, double spaced even thought they use god knows what format at work.
I was looking at those chromebooks but I've never used google docs (though I've heard it is a lot like words) and I read it needs internet connection to work?
Lastly, and more importantly, I'm poor. Not homeless poor but minimal expenses (cheap shit always) poor. I haven't spend over 20 bucks on shoes or shirts in over 6 years. I use a 20 bucks watch every day and I refuse to use the AC on my car because it pulls twice the gas. What I'm saying is, I'm not only poor but also cheap.
I was hoping I could find something really basic at about 250 but I have no experience with laptops or brands save an HP I owned eons ago.
Saw the Acer and it fits mostly the description but I don't know what quality of brand it is ( I know I can ask for much at said price) nor do I know if there is a con to consider with them.
Anyway, sorry for the misuse of space but any help you guys can give me would be awesome.
