A new Defensive rating system that will revolutionize the world. Took me a full day of work to come up with this and make the proper calculations.
So here's the formula:
(Rebounds per 36) + (Defensive win shares) x (Team DRating divided by Individual DRating) + ( Plus/Minus rating divided by minutes )
Positional adjustment for Rebounds per 36. PG = +4.4, SG = +4.1, SF = + 3.6, PF = +0.5, C= 0
Average rating is 10.
I wanted to combine efficiency of rebounds, defensive win shares, plus/minus ratings, and DRating. I have heard from many wise people here that Defensive rating is only valuable when compared by team's defensive rating so that's why I did the division.
Some Pistons ratings:
Charlie V: 7.79
Rodney Stuckey: 7.82
Kyle Singler: 8.77
Greg Monroe: 11.46
Andre Drummond: 14.34
Any comments/criticism welcome :)
