ESPN Lottery Machine is Here!

The new phone books ESPN Lottery Machine is here! The new phone books ESPN Lottery Machine is here! It's the most fun you will have as a Detroit Piston fan all season.

In case you're interested, here is the link. If you're interested, Detroit Piston superfan Chad Ford has the Pistons picking Anthony Davis if they pick No. 1 (duh!); Andre Drummond if Davis is off the board; Thomas Robinson if both Davis and Drummond are off the board and I got Perry Jones to come up once if the other players are off the board.

The 2012 season

Where playing the lottery machine is more fun than watching basketball.

Anybody can happen!

No. 1 pick first go

Now do I have the mental discipline to not click again? My money is on No.

when I saw it

it had us taking the 2nd pick with Andre Drummond. Pretty exciting.

They’ve got Sullinger way too low – As good as he is, I actually think his game will translate better in the NBA – more spacing, less zones. He’ll be like Kevin Love with post moves minus the 3s.

I’d take him after Andre/Anthony.

Everything else is about right, except Jeremy Lamb is way too low.

I'm watching Uconn instead of the Pistons tonight.

I promise I just saw Andre Drummond score 8 points in 3 minutes. 2 dunks, 2 post moves off the glass.
Immediately, his coach took him out of the game. Then they went like 8 minutes without a field goal.

Coaching matters – it seems like he is trying to keep Drummond another year.

Drummond does need some work – he’s not physical enough. But his skills are crazy. He mostly just needs an NBA level coach or mentor.

UConn centers always look tough because Jim Calhoun recruits incredible physical talents and then puts them in a strong defensive system. So he’s got stronger kids playing weaker kids in a strong defensive system. Against equally strong opponents without dominant wing defenders (like Lamb) UConn centers just don’t look as good. Maybe Drummond is amazing but usually UConn centers have more bark than bite.

Jeremy Lamb on the other hand…he’s going to be amazing in the NBA. As bad as the Pistons are going to be, it might be worth trading down to get Houston’s two picks if the Pistons can’t get Davis. You might be able to get Lamb at #9, the #14, and somebody like Patrick Patterson on a cheap contract.

Fully agreed, well said MFJ3. Statistically, Drummond has done little against NBA-caliber talent and IME, he doesn’t deserve the lofty rankings that he’s currently holding in mock drafts. I really don’t want Detroit drafting Drummond unless a) Davis is off the board and b) he can actually put together an impressive run in March against real quality talent.

I like drummond

just not that much. I just don’t see the upside that everyone else sees. He’s fairly polished offensively considering his age. He’s more of an Al Jefferson type, but possibly better defensively.

Personally, I’m in the market for defense. Not too long ago we went half of a decade being successful with one of the most offensively inept players ever anchoring one of the best defenses ever, and it was beautiful.

As for Lamb. I like him but he’s not going to be good enough. He shoots well but he doesn’t draw contact or get to the line. We need a perimeter player that can facilitate no matter the position. If we could find one it would hide the fact our PGs aren’t PGs.

a leaper at 250 plus pounds at the age of 19 is a concern in and of itself

dude has a good chance at adding even more weight and that leaping ability won’t last long if he does.

At first I thought I read that Drummond is a sleeper and I thought, “Another draft pick with narcolepsy?!? What are the odds?”

on my 2nd roll the knicks won the lottery and took harrison barnes. blows my mind.

It took me 20 tries to get a #1 pick

Team that got a number 1 before the Pistons did: The Knicks

I don’t like this game.

At least ESPN has the conspiracy theory coded into the game...

I got Knicks 3 times, and Hornets 4 times out of 25 tries. The Pistons got the #1 only once.

Man...Neil Patrick Harris

Dude is fucking awesome. I once saw him in real life. He’s not nearly as charismatic in real life as he is on TV…but I guess thats understandable considering every character he’s ever played, Doogie, Barney, or NPH playing NPH in Harold and Kumar, has been insanely charismatic.

Are you kidding me? Starship Troopers - especially NPH was a fantazing film (yup I combined fantastic and amazing)

The scene where he plants a subliminal message in his pet ferret’s brain to go and crawl up his mother’s skirt is acting gold.

It was an entertaining movie, but I wouldn’t say NPH was great in it.

NPH

Starship Troopers is a great war satire, and NPH is great in it because he seems to be the only one in the movie that realizes it WAS a satire. Love, love, love that movie.

There are rumors that director Paul Verhoven purposely cast the most model-esque, vapid, blank slates he could find because it helped his message of a future where people lack humanity and emotion and are just mindless killing machines because they think they are doing the “right” thing.
