I think MF Garrett Elliott is the biggest Pistons fan I know of. He’s been a fan longer than I have. He’s not from Detroit. He owns a larger collection of (VHS!) videos about Pistons basketball (as well as music CDs) than any remotely healthy NBA fan should have. He’s lived through teal and tough and teal again, and he’s still here every day. I am a hopeless, relentless, hours-a-day Pistons fan, and I am self-aware enough to realize that I am not as big of a fan as Garrett Elliott is. He’s like the guy that this franchise was built for, a hard-working do-it-yourself kind of guy who understands that creativity and hard work can yield great things.
It might sound like I’m kissing ass or brow-beating, but I’ve been here on DBB for, what, five years? Garrett has been here longer, and I’m pretty certain that he loves Detroit Basketball harder than I possibly could.
Happy Birthday, Garrett. If there is a greater Pistons fan than you, I’ll believe it when I see it. Seriously. And I’ll probably knife them so you can hold your title. That’s the kind of fellow fan I hope to be.

My favorite photographer of all time...
The first and only time I’ve met MFGE was at a DBB suite night. He took some awesome photos.
