Kendrick Perkins schools reporters on the value of team vs. individual, cites 2004 Pistons
To them, he preaches that it's more fun to lose yourself in the camaraderie of winning than to lose and have big numbers. As an example of that mind-set, Perkins put it like this: "Can you name me five players off the 2004 All-Star team?" The reporter scratched his head. "Can you name me who won the championship in 2004?" Detroit, the reporter answered. "My point exactly."
Okay, I now officially like Kendrick Perkins.

It's amazing how a new uniform can change your attitude about a guy.
(He’s still a dick.)
Really though, I agree.
Except for Kevin Garnett.

I like how he handled the questions about getting dunked on by Griffin, too
He just went up a few extra notches in my book
I always loved that mean gargoyle of a man and I think he's the kind of dick who would thrive here in Detroit.

What I like best
is that this shows lots of people got the statement the 2004 NBA champs made – basketball is a team sport. The Lakers lost in part because they were feuding over who was the bigger star, while our Pistons only cared about winning. That’s also why Dallas beat the Heat last year. That’s why all those great old Celtics teams won so many titles. I love watching stars play as much as anyone, but the best stars put the team first.
