Why The Ben Gordon Trade Was A Bad Idea

Yesterday, news came out that the Pistons traded away Ben Gordon and a future first-round pick for Corey Maggette. My first thought was: WOW. My next thought? THIS IS A TERRIBLE DEAL.

You might be thinking that Corey Maggette's a good player, and that Ben Gordon was overpaid and it was good to give him away. Think again.

Corey Maggette is NOT a good fit for the Pistons. He is a veteran that could be an asset to a contending team. It would be one thing if the Pistons acquired him cerca 2005, a young player in his prime. I hate to break it to you Pistons fans, but we're not really a contender this year. Also, we gave away a 2013 draft pick. That's terrible, because we're a team in rebuilding mode, a team that needs young players with potential to be the foundation.

I really don't understand this trade, plus it sucks for Ben Gordon. He went from the Pistons to THE ONLY TEAM THAT'S WORSE IN THE NBA. Such wasted talent there. I mean, I don't think Corey Maggette is ever going to do this:
