I was thinking about how Contraction would actually be really good for the league. It would be a good way to fight the predictability in the league as more and more superstar players are looking to team up with one another on a big market team. The NBA would then become more like the NFL, where any team has a chance to make the playoffs. It would make the NBA fun to watch again with less teams and expanded rosters. I think the NBA needs to cut 6 teams(3 from each conference). The piston would be safe because they are a historical franchise that has actually been one of the most profitable teams in the last 5 years. Surprisingly, Dallas has been one of the teams has been the least profitable teams. I guess Cuban isn't as good of an owner as we thought. I doubt they are cut because of their strong fan-base. I think the Pistons can benefit the most from contraction because we can gain an elite level talent, since we are one of the worst teams to not get cut. I would cut:
Charlotte, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Sacramento, Memphis, and Minnesota.
There would be some kind of contraction draft where the teams with the worst records draft in order.
1. Wash - PF Kevin Love
2. NO - PG Kyrie Irving
3. Brooklyn - SF Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
4. GS - Marc Gasol
5. Toronto - Brandon Jennings
6. Detroit - Ricky Rubio
How awesome would it be to get Rubio? We get the pass-first pg that we need to maximize the talent on our squad. What do you guys think? which teams would you cut and what player would you take with that 6th pick?
