Pistons final score: Detroit wins wild one in Orlando, 104-102

USA TODAY Sports

Brandon Knight put the team on his back and Detroit withstood another 3-point barrage from JJ Redick.

Brandon Knight had perhaps his best game as a member of the Detroit Pistons. Coincidentally, or not, he also had zero assists. Knight scored a career-high 31 points including some key three-pointers in the fourth quarter to lift the Pistons to a 104-102 victory against the Orlando Magic.

And the Pistons needed every one of his points as JJ Redick, just as he did five days ago, was scorchingly hot. He scored 31 points himself, including 21 in the first half, and was 8-of-11 from three.

The game ended in truly wild fashion as the Pistons were up by four, but Will Bynum fouled Jameer Nelson behind the three-point line. Nelson made the first two but missed the third. Glen Davis got the rebound but was blocked by Greg Monroe, the ball bounced around several hands before the Magic got two more tip-in chances that were both unsuccessful before time expired.

In the end, though, this was Knight's game. With the game tied at 98, Knight made a long three-pointer off an offensive rebound. On the ensuing possession, Knight drew a key charge on Glen Davis and on the Pistons trip back up the floor Knight hit a corner three to put the Pistons up 101-98, a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Rodney Stuckey was a healthy scratch in the game, being held inactive for what was termed a "coach's decision." Fellow Pistons guards stepped up big time in his stead. We already talked about Knight's heroics, but also playing well was Will Bynum who had 9 points and 12 assists, Kyle Singler, who had 10 points on 3-of-5 including hitting both his threes and Kim English.

English, who was first guard off the bench, by the way, had 6 points.

Greg Monroe had 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Struggling was rookie Andre Drummond. He had trouble defensively against the wide bodied and surprisingly agile Glen Davis.
