Pacers' starting PG George Hill out vs. Pistons

C.J. Watson to get second consecutive start at point guard.

Just as the Detroit Pistons injury troubles at point guard are turning around, it appears that tonight's opponent is dealing with its own. Indiana Pacers starting point guard has been ruled out for the game tonight against the Pistons, according to Candace Buckner of the Indianapolis Star. Hill is dealing with a sore hip.

C.J. Watson will start in his place. Watson also filled in for Hill in the Pacers' 89-74 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.  In that game, Watson played 31 minutes and scored seven points and dished six assists with no turnovers. He shot just 2-of-8 from the field and missed all three of his 3-point attempts.

Watson was signed by Indiana in the offseason after enjoying his best year of pro ball for the Brooklyn Nets. As a reserve guard in Brooklyn, Watson capably ran the offense and played solid defense while also shooting a career-best 41 percent from deep.

The sore hip might be a mildly concerning issue for the Central Division rival Pacers team. Hill suffered the injury last Friday in a game against the Pelicans. He was listed as day-to-day and his coach did not expect him to miss his team's game the next night against the Cavs. He obviously missed that one and even with two days rest isn't ready to suit up tonight either.

Something to keep an eye on.
