Looking back over our box scores, if NBA games were only 36 minutes long (3 quarters) we'd be 18-15 and tied with Atlanta for 3rd in the East. Yeah, it sucks that we keep letting games slip away in the last 12 minutes, but this is something I should think will get better over time as team chemistry improves and the players get older and more experienced. Great, right?
On a less positive note, it will also take better coaching, so... fingers crossed? Also, until everyone improves their chemistry and concentration, someone is going to have to take over 4th quarters for us. I think it'd be tough for that player to be Monroe or Drummond; big men just can't have the ball in their hands that much. Smith, well, okay, maybe, but I don't want the ball in his hands that much. That really only leaves Jennings of our main players, and though it is a role he could grow into I haven't seen it yet.
I guess this didn't turn out as positive as I originally thought it would, but I still think this trend gives us reason to hope for sizable improvements in the future without major changes to the team.
