Brandon Knight on DeAndre Jordan's dunk: 'I'd jump again'

USA TODAY Sports

Brandon Knight has no regrets for attempting -- and falling spectacularly short -- to block DeAndre Jordan's alley-oop block on Sunday.

Brandon Knight has no regrets stepping in front of an airborne freight train named DeAndre Jordan on Sunday night -- even if the ensuing highlight resulted in national attention. From Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:

"It was a good play. I can laugh at it now. It was funny to me. But if I was in the same situation, just based off the type of person I am and how hard I play, I'd jump again."

From Vinnie Goodwill of the Detroit News:

"When I step on the court, I don't take people dunking six, seven or eight times and not attempting to stop it. It's personal to me," said Knight with crutches under his arms after sustaining a "severe" ankle injury in the first quarter of Monday's 103-90 loss to the Utah Jazz.

"Where I'm from and where I grew up, you just don't let that happen."

[...] "For me, you're gonna get dunked on," Knight said. "It won't be the last time. I've dunked on people, this season actually. It'll happen plenty more times. It's the Clippers and that's what they're known for."

Be sure to click through and read the entire Detroit News article -- there's a lot more quotes from Knight in there worth reading.

Sadly, Knight won't be jumping anytime soon -- he twisted his ankle in the first quarter of Monday's game in Utah, suffering what interim coach Brian Hill termed a "very severe sprain."
