Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Greg Monroe missed his first game as a Piston due to injury with a sprained ankle on Wednesday night. However, he's not expected to miss Friday night's game against the Mavericks.

Greg Monroe tweaked his left ankle during Tuesday's practice. We learned this on Wednesday when it was announced that he would be a game-time decision for the loss against the Knicks. As you know, he was ultimately ruled out closer to game time, marking the first time in his young three-year career that he has missed a game due to injury.

The injury is not believed to be serious, though, as he is not expected to miss Friday's against the Dallas Mavericks. At least that is the guess of Wednesday night's head coach Brian Hill [via Detroit News]:

"He did rehab all day today and worked with (assistant coach) Roy Rogers a little bit. He wasn't able to put any pressure on the foot," Hill said. "We hope that he's ready to go Friday. I know Arnie (Kander) is going to take X-rays tonight, but my guess is he would be able to go Friday."

He wasn't able to put any pressure on the foot sounds a little more serious than a one-game injury in a span of 3-4 days, but I'm no Arnie Kander. Hopefully, Moose is back soon, but only when 100-percent healthy.
