Some would say pursuing an education is a noble endeavor. I reject that premise entirely. Especially when pursuing an education comes at the expense of Dtroit's draft strategy. This is why the entire city of Detroit should curse Stillwater bound Marcus Smart.
Though admittedly we probably never had a chance of drafting Smart, him removing himself from the draft has huge implications on what the Pistons
can do in the draft this year. At best, based on our winning ways of late, the Pistons will most like pick in the 3-5 range. I believe, as many others do, that the Pistons would take Ben McLemore. However, thanks to Mr. Smart( who isn't really up to that last name) any chances of B-Mac in Motor City have vanished, along with Otto Porter in all likeliehood. So now the Pistons are left in a very compromising position With Noel, Mclemore, and Porter assumedly off the board; who do the Pistons take? Oladipo seems to be the most likely pick, but ther are other possibilities such as: Shabazz Muhammed, Anthony Bennet, The Awful Trey Burke, CJ McCollum. As far as the second round goes, the BPA system seems like a must. Reggie Bullock is getting a lot of hype, but if he were to fall to the second that would be a great pick. Some other nice 2nd rounders could be: Doug Mcdermott, Isaiah Austin, LeBryan Nash, Nate Wolters, and finally Myck Kabongo. Whatever we do, Marcus Smart has screwed us all over. He's who we can thank if we draft another Johnny Flynn aka Trey "Can't win a Championship" Burke.
