There have been reports of a lot of teams looking to trade first round picks either up, down, or out.
espn.com reports that “The teams working hardest to move up higher in the lottery are the Jazz, the Wolves and the Thunder. The Jazz appear to be targeting Lehigh’s C.J. McCollum. They are offering picks 14 and 21, but they might have to give up Alec Burks if they really want to get high enough to get C.J."
The Denver post is also reporting that "the Nuggets are expected to try to trade out of the first round. But there are complications in doing so. They aren’t the only team drafting late in the first round looking to make a move out of it. If those teams can’t find a suitor, the Nuggets would have to make that selection.”
I think we can all agree that the Pistons need more than one piece to push them over the edge and in this draft the 8th pick probably wont turn out to be much better than the later lottery picks. There is also the jinx on the 8th pick according to the article on the front page.
I was just curious what you guys thought of the idea of trading our 8th pick to Utah Jazz for the 14th and 21st and our second rounder for the nuggets pick.
With the 14th pick Detroit goes for Sergey Karasev "who is an excellent catch-and-shoot player as well. He will be ready to play right away" these are both things the pistons need
The 21st pick Detroit takes Shane Larkin who can play The PG position well and quick. He is great in the pick and roll which will utilize the two bigs well.
With the 27th pick Detroit should either take Glenn rice jr. or Ricky Ledo. Glenn Rice Jr. is a ready to play player now and Ledo is young player who a lot of people are high on.
I'm open to a pick other than Larkin but I think he can be a good PG in this league playing a fast paced uptempo offense and at worse he will be a great young replacement to Will Bynum.
What do you guys think? any suggestion from other selections or trades?
