The Detroit Piston's little-used reserve center Viacheslav Kravtsov was not released prior to 12:01 a.m. on June 30, and now his $1.5 million contract becomes fully guaranteed.
For those who have asking, Kravtsov is still on the roster. $1.5M guaranteed for next season. #Pistons— Vincent Ellis (@Vincent_Ellis56) June 30, 2013
In 25 games last season, Kravtsov played 9 minutes per contest and averaged 3.1 points and 1.8 rebounds. He shot 71 percent from the field but 45 of his 46 shots on the season came from the painted area.
The Pistons roster now stands at 10 players under contract: Rodney Stuckey, Charlie Villanueva, Jonas Jerebko, Greg Monroe, Brandon Knight, Andre Drummond, Kravtsov, Kyle Singler, Khris Middleton and Kim English.
Stuckey's contract becomes fully guaranteed at midnight tonight. If waived Stuckey is guaranteed $4 million. English, meanwhile, has a fully unguaranteed deal until July 12.
Assuming the Pistons retain Stuckey and English, and sign all three recent draft picks that puts the roster at 13 players and only two open spots for free agents and $20 million in cap room.
But with six players making $1.5 million or less they would be very easy to move in any future trades.
