According to Zach Lowe, with the Josh Smith signing the Moose is now living on borrowed time in Detroit. Great read and full story here:
In summary, Lowe says that (obviously) we need a real PG because Knight's at best a rotation player, but (also obviously) we won't be getting our PGOTF from moving Knight. A bigger asset has to be the bargaining chip and that's Monroe. His defense is worse than Smith's and Smith makes his offense redundant (and Drummond's untouchable).
How much longer does Monroe have in Detroit? Would anyone be willing to trade Monroe right now for, say, Rondo? What do folks think of Lowe's story? How much time should the Stones spend assessing how the team works with all three of Drummond, Smith and Monroe? Would anyone prefer to trade Smith?
