Now that the roster is set at 15 (barring any unexpected moves), I wanted to see how y'all think the playing rotation/minutes will shake out.
My predictions (with projected mpg in brackets next to the player):
PG: Jennings | Billups
SG: Billups | Stuckey | Pope
SF: Smith | Singler | Pope | Datome
PF: Monroe | Smith | Datome
C: Drummond | Monroe
Smith (36 mpg)
Jennings (32 mpg)
Drummond (30 mpg)
Billups (28 mpg)
Pope (24 mpg)
Stuckey (24 mpg)
Singler (18 mpg)
Datome (12 mpg)
Occasional spot minutes:
- Jerebko and Villanueva will start the season in the rotation in place of Datome at SF and PF, respectively, but Datome will show to have the best qualities of both players (the defense/rebounding/hustle of JJ and the floor-spacing of CV), relegating JJ/CV to bench-warmer status.
- KCP will earn his way into the starting SG role by the end of the season and will also take half of Stuckey's minutes, turning the SG rotation into: Pope(24), Billups(12), Stuckey(12), with Pope also spelling Smith/Singler at SF in small-ball lineups for approx. 12mpg.
- To tighten up the rotation in close games or situations where our stars (Monroe and Drummond) need/deserve more burn, minutes will be taken from Datome/Singler/Smith to compensate.
- Bynum will be traded for a 2nd round pick or two before the deadline. One of Stuckey or Villanueva will also be moved for a lesser player on an expiring deal plus a pick. These 2nd round picks will be packaged around draft time to move into the mid-to-late first round.
