As a Pistons fan we all know that this has been a very frustrating season. The majority of players have underperformed and if i do say so myself there has been a lack of effort. It looks like this season isn't completely lost but it will be if there are no trades. That is why now is the time to move and make some changes because if the pistons fail to make the playoffs with a roster like this there will be problems, very big problems.
Trades don't always work out the way you want them to but i think its time to take a risk. Trade Josh Smith he needs to go. He takes bad jump shots time after time and all it does is hurt the team. I think that the rumor of the Pistons looking into getting Rondo would be a great idea. He can be a facilitator and help the offense stay in sync when that has been a huge problem this year. Move Josh Smith and try and get a better Small Forward. Maybe not with as much talent but a player who won't force shots and will help the offense move.
Now where we get Rondo is where we trade Stuckey, Villanueva, and a first round pick. Maybe more if thats what the Celtics need to give up Rondo. The Celtics just want expiring contracts and lets give them that. Move Jennings to the 2 and let him score. It has worked very very well for the Suns this year and I think that it would work well for the Pistons too.
Make trades Detroit and make them now. They need to do something before this season gets out of hand and it ends with utter disappointment. I don't think Joe Dumars has the guts to do anything but we will see. If this season ends in a failure its time to move on from Dumars and the whole front office. Make some moves and do it before us Pistons fans give up on you.
