This loss to the Pelicans is not only embarrassing but it is pathetic. The Pelicans have been very bad this year and they don't even have their star PG Jrue Holiday who i believe is a very good player. The worst part is the way that the Pistons lost. You have to call a timeout there is absolutely no excuse for not calling a time out on that final possession. Also why is Caldwell-Pope guarding Eric Gordon? A rookie on a solid scorer is just a terrible matchup and that also attributes to bad coaching.
That loss showed many weaknesses of the Pistons and those weaknesses need to be addressed sooner rather than later. First off I am tired of watching Josh Smith take forced midrange jumpers that either clank of the rim or don't even touch anything and end up being an air ball. There is a lack of movement in the offense way too often. Everyone is just standing still waiting for something to happen instead of moving.
Second of all they need better shooters! That is a given and it is so obvious that they need better shooters. They have the paint presence to make people come help with the big men but they're kicking the ball out to mediocre shooters. That might need to be addressed in the draft but the bobcats own the Pistons pick if its not in the lottery. Not 100% sure on that one but i think thats how it is.
I think its time the Pistons get rid of Monroe and I would love to see Smith go but i don't think thats very realistic. I would love to see the Pistons draft Gary Harris in the upcoming daft. KCP and Harris could be solid players in the future and would be a nice scoring duo. A loss to the Pelicans at home, with a 4th quarter lead and with them missing Holiday and Evans. Time for some changes to make a positive impact on the team and bring new energy. Let me know what you think the pistons should do i would love to hear your opinion.
