It started slow -- Orlando led 22-20 after the first -- but the Pistons shot 67 percent in a 33-point second quarter and controlled the rest of the game, pulling ahead by as many as 26 points before Maurice Cheeks put in the long-haired Italian victory cigar with four minutes remaining in the fourth.
The Pistons outscored the Magic by 12 in the second quarter behind, believe it or not, quite strong play from Josh Smith and Will Bynum, who combined for 15 points on 7-for-10 shooting. Just when one would think they'd let up, and they did a little, the Pistons put it to the floor, ending the third quarter on a 17-5 run and beginning the first half of the fourth on a 15-6 run.
What stood out:
Orlando's not very good, especially when they're missing Nikola Vucevic, and on the road (3-20).
Who stood out:
20-year-old Andre Drummond bounced back from a poor game on Sunday with his 33rd double-double of the season -- 13 points and 17 rebounds. After the game, Drummond walked over to a young girl in the first row and gave her his jersey and a hug. It was heartwarming.
-- Pistons had 17 offensive rebounds to the Magic's eight.
-- Josh Smith was solid with 16 points on 8-for-12 shooting, keeping the majority of his shots within sane range.
-- Brandon Jennings missed his first eight shots, but was 7-for-his-last-11 and scored 20.
-- Tony Mitchell played. Check out this defensive rebound he snagged.
