New Update on Monroe Trade Rumors

Greg Monroe's future with the Detroit Pistons has been a favorite subject this season as he has struggled with the transition from center to power forward. A few teams, like the Washington Wizards, reportedly have interest, but nothing has been good enough to tempt president Joe Dumars. In fact, Monroe will likely stay with the Pistons past the Feb. 20 trade deadline.

From ESPN.com's Marc Stein: "Sources say teams calling to inquire about Monroe's availability are being advised that he's not on the market."

Stein also reports Andre Drummond is on Dumars' untouchable list. Players Dumars likely wants to get rid of are Josh Smith, Jonas Jerebko and Charlie Villanueva. Rodney Stuckeycould be had if a team is willing to offer a good package.

Monroe is set to become a restricted free agent in July and agent David Falk plans on asking for a max deal. Monroe likely won't get that, however a team could come in with a high-dollar offer sheet that Dumars will be forced to match.

All via ESPN Insider, but I don't think most people have this, so I wanted to see what everyone thinks. I doubt Monroe is on the "Untouchables" list, but if we really are be protective of him unless we get a really good deal, I'm pretty happy. Hoping that this doesn't turn into a Amir/Prince type deal though.
