Which one would you rather have right now? Knight or Jennings?

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

Brandon Knight > Brandon Jennings?

There was a time, all last season, and most of this season I would argue the other way. But it's starting to become obvious that Knight has gotten better since he left us, except for assist/turnover ratio (which is a HUGE factor for a PG) but he's more efficient as a scorer, where as Jennings regressed in those areas.

Knight doubles him in rebounds, but Knight also almost doubles him in turnovers. It's closer than it used to be, and Knight is making a case to be the better of the two players. Still, he's got like 130 assists and 76 turnovers to Jennings 122 assists and 47 turnovers -- which is what you want your PG to do, tough call. Knights FG% and AVG has gone up 42% FG, 33% 3-point range and 17.9 points, 4.9 assists, 3.5 rebs, 2.6 TOV per game last year and 44% FG, a whopping 39.8% from 3. Scoring average has dipped to 17.2 but assists are up to 5.7 per game, and rebounds are up to 4.6 per game.

I don't have to run down a lot of Jennings stats, as most of us have them memorized, but I'll point out Jennings' FG% was 37% last year and its 37% this year, while his 3-point FG% is around 33% both years. His rebounds are around 3 both years, assists are down from 7.6 last year to 6.1 this year and turnovers are the best part of the comparison from 2.7 TOV per game last year down to 2.3 this year (about one less per game than Knight). And Jennings has averaged 15.5 points last year and 13.2 this year.

The question is meant to be answered without the thought of Middleton involved, but I simply can't do that. Middleton has become a great outside threat. So last year, I would have answered the question with a resounding, "No, I'm so glad Knight's gone and Jennings is here." But I'm not there anymore. It just looks to me that Knight is getting better and becoming a leader.
