Passing Lanes ARD: Trade Rumors!

Inspired by MF Awesome.Hog, I have taken up the challenge offered to me and _________ to take over the franchise from now through the summer and describe how things would be different. I proposed doing this as though these posts are articles coming out periodically, just as we consume real Detroit Pistons news.

The Story So Far: After a scrappy, yet sloppy loss to the Miami Heat, the Pistons have dropped to a 19-28 record. With the trade deadline looming and a playoff spot in jeopardy, rumblings have begun in earnest that the new regime is ready to revamp the roster.

These are my Pistons.

Pistons expected to "shake things up" before trade deadline

In the midst of a disappointing season, league sources say the team is ready to make some major changes before the Feb. 20 trade deadline.

"They're really ready to shake things up," said one source with knowledge of the Detroit Pistons thinking. "They're completely unsatisfied with the way this team's players fit together. No one is untouchable."

Notably, Josh Smith was signed by fired GM Joe Dumars in the offseason for the richest contract in team history. Also, PF Greg Monroe will be a restricted free agent this summer, and if the team knows they don't want to retain him, they could conceivably reap a large return for him. The Washington Wizards have been said to covet the 6' 11" Georgetown product for weeks.
