Joe Dumars Preparing To Leave The Pistons?

V Goodwill tells the story in today's News.

Goodwill is plainly telling things from Dumars' side of it, using Steven A. Smith as a straw man. While I find Smith uberannoying, dude thinks he's the black Howard Cosell, he was a big fan of the Going to Work crew. But I've made the same points SAS made, which is, Dumars' teams went to the ECF 6 years in a row. Maybe the game passes you by at some point, but it's not like you forget everything you know about hoops in that time.

As you know, I've long been a Dumars defender. It's been obvious to me that at many times, there's been ownership interference in his ability to run operations. But at the same time, I really wonder about the Josh Smith signing. I mean, I think at that point, you have to make a stand.

I have this feeling Dumars won't be unemployed long. I also have this feeling Dan Gilbert is keeping the GM's chair warm for him. It's going to be a very interesting news conference.
