Well with the Pistons losing their first round draft pick and me having to cancel my Memorial Day Weekend plans due to a scheduling error at work this is officially so far the worst week of 2014.So I thought I would try to help my mental state by writing about something I always enjoy the NBA Summer League 2014.Today the Orlando League schedule was released, and the Pistons schedule is as follows; Saturday July 5th 3pm vs. Houston, Sunday July 6th at 3pm vs. Memphis, Tuesday July 8th 5pm vs. Miami, and Wednesday July 10th 7pm vs. Boston with Championship Day being Friday July 11th going from 8am to 4pm. Last year the Pistons went 2-3 earning 6th place, behind Andre's 15.5 points, 14.8 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 2 blocks per game. One question that comes up is who will coach the team, at the Sports Illustrated affiliated site Pistons Palace (the former Life on Dumars site) they have brought up the following href="http://pistonspalace.com/2014/05/22/pistons-orlando-summer-league-schedule-announced/"
No word yet if SVG plans to coach back in his old practice gym. Normally head coaches allow their top assistant the chance to lead the summer league, but with two years away from the NBA, he might want to dust off some x and o rust.I can't decide who i'd rather see on the sideline more SVG or Sheed. Now the Summer league allows anyone with three years or less of NBA experience to participate. So technically that would include Andre Drummond, Kyle Singler, KCP, Peyton Siva, Tony Mitchell, Gigi Datome, Josh Harrelson and this years number 38 2014 pick. I'm gonna guess we won't see Andre or Kyle on the court this year but personally I would enjoy seeing a starting lineup of Peyton at PG, KCP at SG, GiGi at SF, Tony at PF, and Jorts at C. So that was the primer, what questions do you think summer league will answer about this team? Who would be in your starting lineup? Are there any undrafteds or sleepers the team should add? And who do you expect to see running the show from the sidelines? Ah I feel more better already.
