Here's a quick off season plan for the Pistons
First, they should hire Stan Van Gundy as their new coach. I can't believe he doesn't have a job yet. He's an amazing coach and we should grab him.
Second, they should hire one of these bright young minds for our GM position. My personal favorite is Travis Schlenk. The man seems very good at what he does.
Third, we should draft for need. We have a need for permitter defense and three point shooting. A name that comes up that fills those needs is Gary Harris. He can be a guy off the bench for us. I still think KCP should start. (By all mean if Marcus Smart or Dante Exum is still available grab him, I just doubt they will be there)
Fourth, we need to trade Josh Smith. A couple trades that might work are these. Josh Smith for Danilo Gallinari. Josh Smith for Jeff Green and Keith Bogans. Josh Smith for Gerald Wallace. Personally I'd like to have Jeff Green because of his athletic ability and scoring punch.
Fifth, don't trade Brandon Jennings. Inconsistent but talented. We will not get good parts in return for him. He still has a lot of years left to improve and I think he will with the right coach.
Sixth, resign Greg Monroe. Low post scorer who can pass and rebound. Yes, please.
Seventh, sign these free agents. Jordan Hill, Anthony Morrow. We need that energy guy off our bench who will hustle and grab rebounds, no rebounds no rings. Anthony Morrow is just a dead eye shooter who will be at the very end of our rotation.
Eighth, somehow make Billups retire and make him our assistant GM
Ninth, fans, come to the games
Tenth, make the playoffs
