Hello Piston fans, my name is Tyler Callaway and I am an aspiring writer and college student. I need some help on a research paper I am doing based off how bias views can affect some ones opinion vs. the general publics opinion . Since I am trying to get into sports writing I have decided to do my paper based off the bias' of sports fans. Pretty much trying to figure out just how much the opinion of a fan differs from the public opinion. In this case it will be based off you as Detroit Pistons fans view of the Malice at the Palace Vs. the general public.
What I want to know is what your opinion is on how the Pistons fans in the arena reacted? Do you believe that the Pistons fans acted badly by throwing drinks at Pacers players and provoking them? Or do you believe that Artest and other Pacers players deserved what the Pistons fans did to them?
The general opinions is that Pistons fans behavior was disgraceful and while Artest and other players should not have engaged the fans, the fans that were picking fights with them and throwing drinks in their faces deserved what they got, and most people would do the same. I have came to this conclusion on the public opinion by polling NBA fans on their opinion. I also collected opinions of people who are not NBA fans, after I showed the video of the "Malice at the Palace".
I want your honest opinions and appreciate any help you can give me with this paper. Again thank you so much for anyone that comments, any opinion is just one more step closer to me writing a great paper. I will have a poll below as well, but I really would love to communicate with you all on your opinion. I will also post a video below, I am sure all of you are aware of this game, but just in case here is a helpful reminder.
Oh and I am also a Hornets fan and I want to thank you for the 9th pick ;)
