Hoops Rumors says the Pelicans have talked to the Pistons about a sign and trade for Monroe

But they don't have any assets at the moment that jump out at me. First of all Anthony Morrow is opting out of his contract for next year and Jason Smith is a free agent. Ryan Anderson would be on a decent contract (8 million per year for 2 more years) if he could just stay healthy. I don't believe they'd offer us Anthony Davis, but we could certainly dream. So that would leave Austin Rivrs at 9 million over the next 3 years, Tyreke Evans (around 31 million for the next 3 years) or Jrue Holiday (33 million for the next 3 years). Joe Dumars is no longer our GM so i dont think we'd want Eric Gordon for 30 million over the next 2 years. They also won't have a first round pick on their roster after they traded that to the sixers. What combinatalion of players would come close to peaking your interest. I also understand its against the rules to trade Monroe so this is of course all in good fun.
