OK, no, it isn't.
This is seriously the only move that makes sense for a team that has so much ground to make up with the other teams in the league. Losing Greg Monroe for nothing (most likely) represents an almost Lions-like loss of talent due to poor general management over the years. The team is subject to losing the value of Middleton, B. Knight (vis a vis Brandon's potentially Pistons-career-ending injury), and Monroe without any compensation. That's a devastating situation for a young team trying to emerge.
My hope is that they make a deal with the Hawks, Heat, or Celtics, pick up some good young talent from that squad, and get a pick that allows them to draft Oubre, who will likely outperform any of the wings taken above him by Year 5, IMO.
