If this statistic had not been provide there would be many to argue the proficency and efficency and high level that Rip performs.

He is well deserving of the label “best” and should be among them, when they throw the All-Star ball in the air this season.

Actually, the article is really just saying he’s the most accurate shooter in the league right now. Straight up percentages measure this as well as anything (assuming all shooters have a certain number of attempts per category).

I’m not as much of a stat maven as I should be, but seems ridiculous to me to ADD a percentage of shots that are worth 1 point, 2 points, and 3 points.

The ‘True Shooting Percentage’ that John Hollinger uses makes more sense since it weighs 3 point shooting percentage more and free throw percentage less since, well, 3-pointers give you 3 points.
