Your post is phenomenal. The Stephen Jackson quotes were to die for.

Delfino could have been played by Jimmy Fallon. And if Darko needed a bit part, John Mayer could fill in as well.

First off, great blog. Keep up the good work.

Whenever I see LH bringing the ball up the court, I am reminded of those fellows who play basketball in wheelchairs. I picture LH having gray hair, a gray beard, trying as hard as he can but hardly moving. Detroit is the only team in the NBA who would put up with LH. That said, he had a pretty good game last night, but I keep repeating to myself: Will he be effective in June?

Maurice Evans - while a handsome man - is a liability to this team. Dead weight out there. A baby-faced, light skinned Ron Dupree. I understand he's a Saunder's guy, but, again, will he be a June-guy?

I think Ben has been playing hurt the last month or so. Delfino is the man, no doubt. Tip of the iceberg indeed. Delk seems to have a good work ethic and a fairly straight jumper. Love how he plays D.

Personally, I still have soft spot for Lindsey -- he's the only connection on the floor to the Pistons that I watched in person when I was growing up. But Ian has shined some light on what used to be a blindspot for me -- that being Lindsey just isn't the shooter he once was, and his ball-handling skills and decision-making have regressed. Is that rust from his previous injury this year or old age? I don't know, probably both.

But as Lindsey showed last night with three steals, he's still tenacious on defense, which is clearly his strength. I wouldn't quite say he's should only be a defensive specialist, but to suggest that he fill the role isn't a complete slap in the face -- it's in part recognizing that his on the ball defense is some of the best in the league.

We (I should leave Matt out of this one--I) up the Lindsey-criticism for effect, but his game last night wasn't his worst performance by far. But when he's on the floor with starters (Ben being the exception), he should be solely a defensive specialist. Sure, he can hit some shots occasionally, but the effects of that--him actually looking for a shot as a result of hitting one or two--becomes burdensome for the team. His value is undisputed--no one on the team has the lateral quickness to stay in front of the league's quicker scorers. He also has incredibly quick hands, which result in a lot of steals.

But he has terrible tunnel-vision when headed towards the rim or in transition, and his jumpers are all or nothing--no shooter's bounce here.

Am I overly critical of Lindsey--sure. But does he make it easy for me at times--absolutely.

And I still maintain: Walton is awesome; you just need to be able to crack the code to appreciate him.

Man, cut Lindsey a little slack! His game last night wasn't worse than some I've seen from Delk. As he said in the postgame(!), he's probably just now getting back into shape! Almost certainly this is the last run for Lindsey, and I'm not gonna dis him just yet!

I'm not trying to be a Lindsey apologist, but his ahooting numbers of late are not all that different than 00's. And I wouldn't say that Delk is hugely better at ball distribution. Actually, LIndsey had a better shooting night than Mr. Big Shot himself (granted it was in a shorter amount of time). Plus, he said in post game that Chauncey was getting on him about taking more shots- it seems likely that he would take Chauncey's advice.
