I don’t see Terry Porter becoming the next asst coach. However if things dont workout with his group buying the Blazers he would be a good fit. PGs always make good coaches.

Terry Porter as assistant coach would be funny. Just to think back to the 1990 Finals and how Dumars owned Terry Porter back then, and then he’ll be his boss.

Last week Rob Parker wrote a column about bringing back Ben Wallace. He said the people saying Ben shouldn’t be re-signed (people that don’t exist) need to forget about Ben’s poor free throw shooting in the playoffs because he does so many other great things.

That’s the extent of the question in Rob’s mind, apparently.

He completely ignored the riddle in re-signing Ben: he’s going to be 32 in September and his game is totally dependent on quickness and explosive athleticism, so how much should he get paid and for how long. No, to Parker the only negative to be considered is Ben’s free throw shooting in the playoffs.

I emailed him pointing out this glaring omission only to have it return undelivered because his mailbox is full. Hopefully he’s getting an ear full.
