[...] Matt discussed briefly last Saturday the strange case of Bonzi Wells' free agency (basically, that no one wants him). Well, this story could be getting much worse (for Pistons fans, anyway). After turning down a modest sized offer from the Kings earlier this offseason — and then finding very little interest leaguewide in a contract-year phenom with questionable character — it seems that Wells' agent is now trolling Miami waters hoping to snag the Heat's mid-level exception. If Wells is anywhere near the player who gave San Antonio fits in last year's playoffs, the Heat will be even tougher in '06-07. Remember, this team took two thirds of a season to gel after major offseason changes in the summer of '05. Now, with the majority of their roster returning, expect them to resemble the late-season/playoff Heat in '06-07 more than the team that stuggled with the league's elite for much of the season.
Sure thing, bro. I got this one.

I totally agree with u that they're "weaker" without Ben per se. But what are they really gonna miss from Ben? He's a monster rebounder, athletic in every other way, defensive-specialist.... the list goes on and on -- However, the dwindling energy is imminent. Gone are the days of spectacular defensive gems night in and night out. (case in point - the block on shaq. Do u remember any other instance wherein he did an unreal "D" on someone? Right, neither did I. Unlike in say, 02-04 where he as a fixture on weekly top blocks) The offensive liability that he is. Heck, Shaq's a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better ft shooter than him. Considering that the hack-a-shaq was coined after the guy.

So, this right here ladies and gents is in no way a guarantee/guaransheed if u will, but a mere consoling move (call it sour-graping if u will), but i genuinely believe that the 06-07 campaign is something worth banking on... A fully rested squad who literally managed to play 5 - 82-game seasons in 4 years, sort-of high expectations for them to win it all (even though there are still doubters aplenty) and other external factors...

the ALLRIGHTS, let's talk again come playoff time. For the mean time, relax and watch some betamax.

peace bro

aRChPoPoY -- I want some of whatever your smoking, and I'll have some of the kool aid you drank, too.

No chance this roster is better without Ben Wallace. Dream on, brother.

In response to Marc Stein's - Offseason review: Rating the East from Heat to Sixers
-- Bring it on fellas. I hate to sound so redundant but this is where the Pistons are most dangerous: When people count them out. Last year was different, everyone was saying the Heat will win it all (sure they did) but all along we knew that the Pistons could beat the Heat oh-so-effortlessly if they brought their A-game. This years different though. The doubt is there, they lost Ben. I mean, they lost Ben right? They have to be ranked way way down there. Sure, they lost Ben to the Bulls which by doing so theoritically "weakens the Heat's chieft rival"... Well, to be quite honest, the Pistons actually got revitalized and got an extra shot of "youth" in them by adding Nazr and Flip Murray in the process. I don't about you guys, but this gives for a better/deeper roster if u ask me.

Please rank them lower next time. They thrive on these things. Hell, rank them after the Hawks if you have to just because they added someone there.

Go Pistons go! Can't wait to get my Nazr jersey!
