Pistons slide into Oklahoma City

Chris Paul on crutchesThe Hornets are playing without Chris Paul (pictured right), Peja Stojakovic, David West and Bobby Jackson. Even with Chauncey Billups still sidelined, this is a game the Pistons should win.

But as we all discovered the last time the Pistons faced the short-handed Hornets, absolutely nothing is guaranteed — a lesson fans and players alike should have learned during the team’s current three-game slide.

The Pistons have played their best when taking part in a back-to-back series. Tonight, they’re coming off of three days of rest with another coming tomorrow. That said, this game will be played in front of a national audience on TNT, so I won’t be surprised if the Pistons come out with more first-quarter energy than we’ve seen in most games this year.

As usual, leave any thoughts about the game in the comments.

is there a stipulation in flip murray’s contract that if you get crossed up by jannero pargo, said contract is null and void? ian, matt, one of you cats is a lawyer, right? there’s got to be a “pargo clause” in there.

Hey, Amir Johnson is in the game!

And, in case you didn’t notice, the Hornets do have Bobby Jackson tonight, contrary to my incredibly in-depth preview above…

Sheed and Naz just slept walked through this one. Wow!

Jack - Hilarious. “pargo clause”. Flip is such a defensive liability. He has no clue. You always see him wandering around on defense like a lost kid a supermarket. Just awful.

How good is Rip? He is slashing to the basket so much more this year.

Max is great. What energy. He is so fun to watch. I love how he is just always trying to destroy the rim, and work on the block. I wish we could inject a little Max into Sheed. Do you guys remember when Sheed would stay down low and just abuse people? I’m so sick of the three ball. Even when he hits them I can’t stand them. At the begging of the season he was a monster. Is he hurt, bored or what?

If he is still hurting they should sit him. He doesn’t look like he is moving well on defense, and his unwillingness to work down low might be telling.

Maybe he needs more techs. Go get a few techs Sheed!

Jack, sadly no “Pargo clause,” though that phrase is now a permanent part of my vocabulary. Gracias.

By the way, when Jannero Pargo is taking 24 shots for your team, methinks you lose most AAU games.
