See what you’re missing, Ben?

Lindsey Hunter greets Ben Wallace

DBB reader MichSt was at the game Saturday and caught Lindsey Hunter playfully greeting Ben Wallace at center court with a headband. From Detroit News:

Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups both tried to present Wallace with a red headband before the game. Lindsey Hunter greeted him wearing one himself, all in honor of Wallace’s headband stand with the Bulls earlier this season.

“I think the whole team came out with those headbands. I think that was premeditated on their part,” Wallace said, smiling. “It was all good though.”

Here’s another one with Sheed:

Keep the pictures coming! You can add them to the Detroit Bad Boys photo group on Flickr yourself, or email them to me and I’ll do it for you.

Here another that DBB reader Roscoe sent me — that’s Ben at center court talking to some of the Pistons while they’re stretching, as well as Carlos Delfino chatting with someone who appears to Andres Nocioni, a fellow Argentinian:

Sure looks like Ben was a problem in the locker room, huh? All the love pours out from the players to this awful malcontent?? Something fishy in the Palace, people.

Am I the only one in the city who is tired of the lies coming from our front office year after year? The slime job done on Ben was a shameful act of revenge BY WHOM? AND FOR WHAT?

Ben didn’t get along with the coaching staff — he plainly admitted as much in numerous interviews after he left. I don’t think anyone painted him a locker room cancer, though.

To Ben’s credit, he softened his criticism of Flip before the game and made sure to acknowledge him with a patented NBA half-hug. From the Sun-Times:

He never has tried to hide his dislike of the system employed by Flip Saunders, so Wallace was asked how he would greet the Pistons coach.

”I’ll go down and shake his hand and wish him good luck,” Wallace said.

”He never did anything to hurt me or my family, so I’ll give him that respect.”
