Sheed's problems might be off court, but they are not out of the locker room. Anyone else notice the huge hug he got from KG before the game yesterday?? What was that about?

Yeah. It's hard to condemn someone for something they did as a teenager.

I've read reports on how this move was bad because Webb is a malcontent. I don't think that will be the case. Webber and Sheed are friends. And I think he'll be happy to be home.

As a Michigan fan, and a former Wolverine,(during the FabFive era no less) I can say with no hesitation that it is good to see C-Webb home. I am over the drama. He did not do it single handedly and he was not the only one.(I will bite my tongue on how I feel about NCAA and their 'rules' none the less, "GO BLUE!") His heart has been here all along. (we all know it) What he brings to the table I do not believe can be argued as helpful, if not needed tremendously with our slipping sons. Now I did hear that it was said he is about 95% health wise any chance for 98-100% b4 we have him start? As for Sheed, LOVE his passion for the game, think it can be misunderstood frequently. He will benefit greatly from the All-Star break to get healthy and hopefully take care of the family problems that he is possibly having.

Matt, it was in the Detroit News a few days ago. Not specific, just hinted at by Sheed that his issues could be offcourt.

[...] Wetzel starts off his article by saying fans are willing to forgive professional athletes for any transgression and if that was the crux of his article I would agree with the general theme. But his attempt to make Chris Webber a victim of a process where he has done absolutely nothing but benefit is nauseating. So Chris Webber has been booed during the handful of games he has played at the Palace. What a martyr. And that will likely change given the role he can play in helping to improve the Pistons. So there is no real need for Wetzel to try and rally the fan base behind him. They already gave him a warm welcome at the Palace this afternoon. [...]

I think this will help us alot. But did anyone read the Jim O'Brien analysis where he called the Pistons the best offensive lineup in the east and maybe in all of the NBA? East.... maybe but the entire NBA. Hell no.

I wondered if this season was gonna be hard on Sheed before it began. No B. Wallace to bang around with, his ankle still affecting him, the zero-tolerance policy, and now he's mentioned something about personal family issues. Hopefully Webber will be able to help revitalize him. I sure hope so. I'd hate to see him disenfranchised and either getting benched or asking for a trade. We need him.

I still think Sheed is hurt. He can't seem to move on defense and all his shots are rimming out. His moves to the basket look ginger at best... hes not 100%... not even close. Maybe he needs to take a few weeks off and get right. We are all quick to point towards Flip Saunders, but I remember Sheed saying tat there was some family stuff that was effecting him... anyone else remember that? Also, even if he was pissed at Flip he's too good of a teammate to torpedo games on purpose... it's just not Sheed. Get the man a few Zolofts and some T's and he'll be golden.

This is a win-win situation. Webber will complement Sheed nicely. He'll want to play hard to prove his naysayers wrong and to win a title. This is exactly what we need right now. I was skeptical at first but more and more I'm thinking this was a good idea. High-fives all around!

This is great. Webber is back in the D, and I think he's actually going to play his ass off for the approval of his hometown fans. I just hope Michigan fans don't hold a grudge against him. If you're at the Palace then you're a Pistons fan, and he's a Piston now so cheer for the guy. I've been to a few Pistons v. Sixers games where he's been booed and I hope that doesn't happen now that he's with the good guys.

Also, I actually think the recent slump was good for the team because it gave the bench some much needed experience. Flip put up some numbers, Delfino and Dale played well, Maxey continued to eat babies, and Lindsey looked great today.

BUT, I do have some concerns. Sheed does not look happy. He looks like he wants to go Latrell Sprewell on Flip Saunders. Also, I'm praying that we don't deal away Dyess. I've heard the rumors, and judging by the way Antonio played today I think he's heard them too. With a bad back, he played like a man possessed today. I'd hate to see him go. Nazr is cryin about playing time, but he really doesn't deserve it, so give him his wish and send him packin. I just don't really see what Marko Jarik brings to the table. But with the additons of Webber, Chauncey, and Lidsey our roster is 10 deep. Whose minutes is Marko going to take?

even as a c-webb detractor, i have to say it was kind of cool to see him at the game today and see the reaction. maybe it's the kind of spark we need to get out of this FUNK.

that and our team leader back would help.

Webber solves our problems avec Ben Wallace. This is good. Very good. Theoretically speaking, we should be a lot better than we were earlier this season, especially once chauncey comes back.
