It was a strange night. Lots of defensive lapses, especially inside, but offensively it just wasn’t our night. Starting with Sheed’s miss to start the game all the way to Chauncey’s missed 3 at the end, we weren’t going to beat anybody with the way the ball bounced.
I was there last night… it was so hard to watch. It seemed like we missed every layup. We looked like the tired team out there. So many missed opportunities. Everyone played poorly. The crowd was a little in shock. We had very little to cheer for at either end of the floor.
The only bright spot was Carlos in the second half. He ignited a mini run all by himself, but it wasn’t enough.
The play of the night… when my girlfriend and I hit the Saunders hot fudge Sunday bar.
There is really no excuse for the Pistons playing as poorly as they did. As far as the Spurs are concerned… if they arrived at 4am, and the game was played at 7:30pm, then they had a good 10 hours of rest time before it was time to go to the arena…
I’m not saying that it’s the best thing in the world to get in to town at 4am, but when you’ve got to be “awake” by 4:30 or 5:00pm for a game, you’ve got time. Especially considering these guys play basketball every day of their life. It’s not like Tim Duncan had to go out and work 8 hours at his construction job and then go play a pick up game…
You could see the loss coming. I could see it in the body language monday night as they cruised to the win over the Clips. They could have beaten the Clips by 40 points, they were up 20 at one point and then they had to leave their starters in to wrap up the game because the lead was wittling away… Just look at it next time… I can see Detroit winning the next 3 (Mil, Orl, Orl) but that 2nd game against Orlando you will see them begin to lose it and then against the Bulls they will not be able to get it back.
It always happens, it’s not for a lack of effort, it’s just that they lose it for a game and then they shoot over 50% for 2 or 3 then lose it again

Terrible game really by both teams last night.
I’m not impressed by either team’s performance, both teams are better than they played.
I agree boney… but SA had a good excuse… what was the Pistons?
