Fall down seven, get wheeled off eight

It’s a cheap shot. It’s also funny. Pistons and Heat tip at 8pm on ESPN — as usual, leave your thoughts on the game (or life in general, really) in the comments.

It’s the truth. He doesn’t need to hit the floor nearly as many times as he does… it’s all about the show

got no visuals on the game, just the dang delayed flash updates from pistons.com/nba–since im at work-but what the heck is the attitude of the pistons-looks like terrible play on the pistons part

monster nite for shaq.. i think his season high was 23 points the other night-so he just beat that.. i see the gap is closed, but them shaq numbers are impressive. the chauncey performance looks like the achilles in this game. anyone got any feedback or relaying of game info. i only got the stupid flash updates here at work

With Shaq at 7′1″ and 320+ pounds, and if he raises his arms, he has to jump 6 inches to dunk or shoot a couple foot shot……..how the hell can you guard him without fouling? Maybe cut his legs off at the knees to make him normal hight. Well I don’t know, but if your that big you don’t have to be able to shoot. Errrr.

One thing that really pissed me off was when tay went in for the layup and it was called offense foul even though shaqs heal was in the circle. Because of that they got a 3 at the other end. Thats like a 5 point swing. Then shaq shoving Dice to get the rebound and dunk to put them up with like 30 seconds left.
Part of the game was the refs fault, part was the pistons and part was shaq.

Re: the video — I actually feel bad for him, since he didn’t suffer his injury throwing himself to the ground like he so often does. But still, the way he plays, something like this was going to happen sooner or later…

Re: the game — I could only catch parts of the first half, and looking at the final score I’m surprised it was so close. I’m going to watch the whole thing on the DVR in the morning, but my (extremely limited) first impression (based largely on the halftime score) is that I’m amazed Detroit came back to make a game of it.

Not only did we get to see the Shaq of old…we got to see the Shaq officiating of old.

Nice comeback in the second half, at least made the game interesting. A shame they couldn’t put it away. The three that one of the Heat players hit in the last minute killed the Pistons.

The first half was absolutely terrible. It appears that Miami did not really do all that much in the 2nd half. IF you’re a Detroit fan, you’ve got to think that you OWN Miami if you can play a horrible first half and come back in the 2nd half like that when chauncey shoots 2-14… 2-14!!!

anyway, I hope it gives Miami a false sense of confidence.

wasn’t chauncey something like 0 fer 11 into the fourth? we had no business being in that game with that kind of shooting. if it wasn’t for dyess and tay, it wouldn’t have been close. and matt g. is dead-on. that charging call on tay at the end was ludicrous. even beyond the heels on the circle and his feet not being set, how could you EVER in your right mind call tayshaun prince for a charge against shaq? i’m sorry, but that is a call that fatty shaq fat is ineligible for.

Matt C. - I would like to see the defender on Shaq “goose” him every now and again. See if you get a reaction….

I didn’t happen to catch the first half, but the second half was wildly entertaining. I’m not sure what the Heat were thinking by not going to Shaq in the post until the very end of the game, but they pulled it off, so hat tip to them. Certainly great efforts by Antonio McDyess for the Pistons, but it would have really helped the cause to see Rasheed log some minutes, it’s a shame he was hurt. But in the big picture, the Pistons shouldn’t risk anything during the regular season when we’re in such good shape to lock up a playoff berth at the end of the season. It’s just too bad things didn’t go our way towards the end of the contest, but I suppose they can’t always go your way after such a below mediocre first half of basketball.
