The Pistons should absolutely draft Acie if given the chance. He is just a guard that does what you need him to do to win. We need someone off of the bench to go w/Lindsey and Acie is that guy. Over and over down the strech he has been fantastic for TAMU. Against Texas earlier this year he hit a game-tying three at the end of regulation and at the end of overtime. The first one was an incredible fallaway over Durant and another Longhorn. He would give them a chance to go small with Chauncey, Rip, Tay and Webber/Sheed/Dyess at the end.

Definitely keeping an eye on Acie Law, Jeff Green and Al Thorton. I think I'm liking Law the best so far, he has looked really good in the few big games I've seen him in. Pretty sure he's a senior so he might be able to come in ready to play and backup Chauncey right away. Especially after Chauncey getting hurt again tonight at Phx.

Horford's ok. But we already have an undersized four in Maxiell.

I think all the quality bigs will be gone by the time we draft. I can do without Josh McRoberts and Spencer Hawes. Haven't seen Hibbert. Hansborough seems physical (and his protective mask could make him a good fit).

Acie Law's nickname is "Captain Clutch." Sounds good to me.

jeff green would be a steal with the orlando pick. acie law is a more realistic pick and since point guards seem to drop every year, he could definitely be there. but based on the probability that we're gonna experience an exodus of bigs, we'll probably go with a 4 or 5. horford will probably be a top 5 pick, so we won't have a shot at him unless we were to trade up. maybe that thornton kid could be an answer....

Al Thorton (not to be confused with Al Horford from Florida who is good in his own right) from Florida State is an absolute monster. He's somewhere around Tayshaun and/or Maxiell in height, but much closer to Tayshaun in weight and body type. Though he's not playing in the NCAA tourney, he's playing in the NIT and he basically carried Florida State through the first round. He's a stud as far as I'm concerned. I like him a lot more than Brewer at that position, and I'd love to see him backing up Tay next year while moving Delfino to permanently back up Rip. He should be around (I'd hope) if we inherit a lottery pick of any kind from Orlando though I suppose he could go early within the Top 10.

Horford is another guy worth looking at, though noticiably bigger than Thorton, he doesn't have that same type of freak athletic factor that Thorton has. He's also a junior, though he should come out this year.

D.J. Augustin is the freshman point guard at Texas who gets dwarfed in media coverage by Durant. I don't know if he will come out this year, but a lot of people who have watched him marvel at some of the stuff he does. I'm not so sold on him, but others keep singing his praises to me, so worth mentioning.

Hope that list is useful, I'm sure there are plenty of other players worth exploring that neither of us have mentioned.

The days of me getting excited for the NCAA tourney are long gone. Now I just "scout" future players for the Pistons. So far, I want to watch these guys play:

Acie Law
Corey Brewer
Jeff Green
Roy Hibbert

Any other suggestions for players we may be in a position to draft with one of our picks?
