Flip Murray can’t feel Kirk Hinrich’s love tap

A. Sherrod Blakely on Kirk Hinrich’s apparent nut shot to Flip Murray:

I spoke with the league office earlier today regarding Kirk Hinrich’s jab/punch toward Flip Murray’s uh, family jewels. They reviewed the incident and decided to take no action. …

Now normally I might have issue with the league taking such a soft stance on this, but after talking with the man whose jewels were involved - Murray - the league made the right call on this one.

Flip Murray said he didn’t remember getting hit by Hinrich, and I think I can speak for Flip and all men when I say this: if he got hit down there, he would have definitely remembered.

So I guess we’re left with two possibilities: the shot to the groin was incidental and indirect contact that didn’t really hurt … or Hinrich punches like a girl. (Zing! Countdown to angry Bulls fan response in 5, 4, 3, 2 …) Watch the video again — I still don’t get how Hinrich’s hands can go from being crossed over his chest to jabbing into Flip’s man parts without at least some kind of intent.

Kirk probably just wanted to feel what having a pair felt like.

    Flip Murray: Balls of Steel.

Do not fine Hinrich. He really needs to buy his mother some teeth. I mean, damn. Maybe move them up to a double wide? Leave the kid alone…hahahaha.

i think he instinctively went into an anti-”chin nuts” defensive stance. i can’t fault him for it. if it’s a choice between some guy’s sack in my face or my fist in his family jewels, then it’s not even a choice. i like that flip is taking the steve nash stance. nash has become the nba version of gandhi. geyser of blood from his nose, knee to the groin, hockey check in the scorer’s table and he just keeps playing the “i understand and forgive” card. guy is complete class act. absolutely unique in his abilities. completely humble. can’t say enough nice things about him. hope phoenix finally gets past those a-holes in s.a.

Freep had a pretty good photo of the dunk - Hinrich’s arm extended, to boot. Looks like Hinrich was guarding against a knee in the face. Man, Flip Murray has some spring in his legs, lol.

Man, the last time Flip Murray dunked like that… wait a minute, there wasn’t a last time. Good for him for proving he can actually get up, not just chuck J’s towards the rim.
