Drew Gooden is looking for you, refs! Watch your back! Yeah, that’s seriously all I have right now. As usual, leave your thoughts in the comments.

we are all witnesses to pistons in 5.
Dale Davis shot Mamba. Tasered that sumbitch.
Fred McCleod is going to rubber rim it.
dale davis? our dale davis?
Hey there is a Gary Sheffield, Caros Guillen, and Justin Verlander sighting. It’s cool to see detroit pro’s supporting the other pro’s.
So… our team is getting bullied by Cleveland’s scrubs. Great start guys.
Again, why is it that Delfino’s energy stands out so much? BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE IS SHOWING ANY!!!
Where’s the infant muncher when you need him?
I swear I just saw Lebron throw the ball at someone in the front row. What was that?
And then three guys stand around and watch Lebron miss a shot while Varejao grabs a board. This Piston team is capable of making anyone hate them on occasion.
If McDyess and C-Webb are “desperate,” then give me ambivalent every time.
Its a litle bit annoying seeing Varejao play better than all our big guys combined.
And still only down six at the half.
Pretty sure the Bulls are a much tougher team than the Cavs.
Billups’ stats at half-time: 3 pts, 0 Asts, 4 Turnovers. The Pistons have 10 turnovers and are being out-rebounded 31-20. But the scary thing is LeBron only has 4 points and we’re still losing. I expect things to shift in the second half (like always) and play the right way. It’s just a matter of us playing with energy, it’s nothing Clevelend is doing.
What is this? I thought that the Pistons learned from how badly they messed the bed in the last round. They can’t keep making stupid mistakes.
If Varejao wants to flop I say give him a reason to flop.
Where is the desperation? Where is the hunger? Where is the Pistons team that played in the first 2 games against the Bulls and swept the Magic in the first round?
They sure didn’t start the first half with enough energy. We can still win it, but we need to get some spark in there.
Don’t look now, but Dale Davis is outscoring 4 of the 5 Pistons starters…
That can never be a good sign.
i’ve said it before: no team in the nba rests on its laurels more than our pistons.
wake up, kids.
A refreshing change of pace. Anyone else notice that the paint is wide open for Sheed and Co., especially with the Cavs bigs coming out high on Chauncey after the pick?
Oh man…
EVERYONE saw that. Eric Snow just bitched out Lebron!
you CANNOT afford close games against the cavs. the refs will take it out of your hands and put it in king james’ pocket. need a huge jump at the start of this quarter.
Wow…
Chauncey’s been hanging out with Lindsey too much.
I’m really tempted to complain about Tayshaun’s night, but I can’t criticize him for being too passive one night — and then turn around and criticize him when he is aggressive and has a bad shooting night. It is what it is.
I haven’t been able to watch most of the game but that’s at least the second time Tayshaun has fallen down and had to call a TO to keep the ball. What’s up with that?
And what happened to Webber? I haven’t seen him yet. Matter of fact I haven’t seen him since games 2 of the Bulls series.
Wow…this hasn’t been a great start. Hold the two point lead Pistons!
That was a great look. Pistons got very, very lucky in this game.
Good call on the luck Ian. They left him WIDE OPEN in the corner…..thank God that wasn’t Robert Horry.
Lebron James is just three assists shy of the most underwhelming triple double in NBA playoff history.
Oh, and by the way, I understand going for the win, but Lebron could’ve dunked that for the tie. He didn’t want it.
I like Cleveland’s strategy of denying the Pistons’ best free throw shooter. Oh, wait…
79-76.
I just hope my eyes grow back in time for game 2, which is three weeks from today.
Yes! It’s ugly, but it’s 1-0 Pistons. 7 wins away now.
Why was Maxiell playing during crunch time?
Man that was a weird game. I’ll take the W, but, damn. But it was nice to see some Jmax action.
I wish someone would have clotheslined Rip or body-checked Chauncey into the scorer’s table during this game. Anything to wake this damn team up.
We are all witnesses to a career playoff low 10 points. Boo yah.
And Maxiell is a beast. No wonder everyone here loves him so much!
Cameron, because Antonio McDyess looked like a 6′10″ Lindsey Hunter for most of the game.
Sheed pulled another bonehead, leave-a-man-open-for-the-three play, but at least it didn’t drop.
God that was boring.
Sheed on TNT right now.
lol…..he is even standing in front of his own poster/banner….
Suggestion for the archivists: when you’re editing the ‘06-07 Pistons championship DVDs, please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, skip over ECF Game 1. This was godawful.
And now we have to wait until Thursday.
I can’t stop talking about this.
First off, tie the effing game — it’s a layup.
But not only was Marshall open to the right, but Pavlovic was open on the left.
Very, very lucky.
LeBron is like a goldfish and Wade is like a shark. One likes sprinkled food, and the other has killer instincts and gets his meal. LeBron needs to go watch the movie “Jaws” instead of game tapes.
I got another sublymonal message for ya, LeBron. You’ll never be 23, stop choking in the games!
Well you lost the game LaBron…. but nothing is going to stop the endorsement money train .. yum power aid is delicious. Check out this shot from his press conference after the game. Shameless.

Nice pic, Tim — that jumped out at me, as well.
Yeah. Did they spin that around so we could see the logo? Reminds me of when Jordan won #6, and before he even congratulated Phil Jackson, he shot an on-the-spot McD’s commercial. Damn. The best we’ve ever done was Big Ben shillin’… Powerade.
This was a lot like game 1 of the 2004 ECF. Unattractive game to watch until the very end. I feel like Detroit incredibly lucky…
Can you imagine if Marshall had hit that basket. All we would have heard the rest of the week would be about LeTravel getting it done all over the court. That would have been the lamest triple double ever.
The play that everyone is talking about was actually a good play. And Matt W is right, they had 2 guys open. BOTH Sheed and Rip left their man and went to stop Lebron from drving the lane. But really who was at fault? Who got beat by James that forced Rip and Sheed to leave their man? The Pistons got REAL lucky. They better get their crap in order. Otherwise this playoff series is going to a long one. I have tons of faith in the Pistons. I know what they can do. They just need to get back to the basics of Pistons basketball.
DEEEETROIT BAASSSKEEETBAALLL! Good pace for the Pistons tonight. Not great shooting and slow in the begining, but if its a dog fight they want, then we will win!
i really don’t wanna say it… but I told you dale davis was gonna be a beast.
steve wonders… how uncomfortable will it be when, during a television time-out, Marv calls out doug collins for the horrible blonde hair dye job… and doug matter-of-factly points out that Marv is wearing a toupee, and will bite a hooker or two.
two points, floor-slapper.
stones in 5. and you’re in the situation room.
First of all, Prince had conceded the layup to LBJ on that final drive. He was pulling back to avoid a call. It was a poor decision to pass the ball. I don’t buy the “stealing a game with a three” plan when a team has a LBJ type of player — someone who can take over a game (Kobe, Wade, MJ).
Second, I seriously hope seeing Maxiell down the stretch is a sign of things to come. Even if CW and Antonio are managing to be productive, the energy Maxiell brings to the game more than offsets the potential for decreased scoring.
The same thing goes for Delfino, but to a lesser degree.
