I'm just praying for the first Freep article entiled "Rodney Sticks a Dagger in Cleveland" :)

Honestly the more I read about the guy the more it looks like he might be everything they told us Flip Murray was but didn't turn out to be. He can run, pass, has a nice shot and seems very much awake on the court... just maybe we found our backup PG afterall, or at least a guy who can play 4-5 mins a night there and keep Lindsey fresh and in lockdown mode in the 4th because dear God please do I NEVER want to see Lindsey Hunter trying to go 5 on 1 in the fourth quarter with us down by 4 every again....that hurt my soul.

If he turns out to be a good 2 in the process? More power to Joe, and the Pistons :)

I'm starting to like this pick more as time goes on. I was a little concerned about the competition he went up against in college, but the fact that he dominated the competion made it easier to accept. Not that I'm calling him lebron, but his competition was not that great either before he came to the league. I'm excited about the chance to maybe see a guy who can create for himself and others. When have we seen a guy here that can aggresively get to the basket and finish or get fouled consistently. I hope this is what we are getting. Its hard to say considering I can't find any footage of rod st. I have seen some of everything imaginable on youtube. Is to much to ask for one two minute highlight clip of this guy? With all the run his school is getting you would think someone one have done this by now.

I hear the comparisons to D. Whistle alot when they talk about him...but im not expecting him to put up numbers like D.W. (but if he does more power to him...and us...lol)

Most likely i can see him shaking up things a little bit...knowing that the Pistons have a half-court offense and play the death out of the 'set-up your teammates for good shots' game...alot, of teams are starting to catch on to the way we play Ball. It would be nice to when we go into one of our little scoring slumps, especially in the middle of quarters...Rodney can come off the bench and lit a fire on unexpected teams, with his ability to create off the dribble and slash to the rim for easy points...thats sounds like a player that the Pistons havent had on this team, which could really make us a more dangerous team

To be fair Eastern Washington was 8-20 the year before Stuckey arrived. They improved to a .500 team w/him. The cover of the '06-07 EWU press guide has Stuckey bringing up the ball with his finger in the air calling a play and he had three games with 10 assists (a ton in college) so he's looking more like a solution to backup PG the more I learn about him.

Well, I do have to agree that the more I read, the better he sounds. One thing I'd like to address however is the sheer # of places on the internet I've heard "The Pistons need a player who can create his own shot?".... Really? I mean what we're the Atlanta Hawks all of a sudden? A 20 something rookie is REALLY going to walk into Detroit, demand the ball, make a couple breaks and take his own shot? Thats ACTUALLY going to work out well and keep the core of this veteran team happy? Can't you just see Rip and Chauncey going "Sure Mr Saunders, I'll get the ball to the new kid ASAP!"?

yeah me either.
