Amir Johnson’s Vegas Summer League highlights

If you haven’t seen it yet, the video above is Bad Boy Summer Camp’s final highlight video of the Vegas Summer League, featuring Amir Johnson’s one and only game — seeing No. 25 bounce all over the place has me getting antsy about next year.

For news on the “other” summer league — the Rocky Mountain Revue — be sure to check out this dispatch from FreeDarko. The Pistons don’t have a team in that league, but it’s a great read with Pichi Campana Aguanta offering some nice behind-the-scenes insight.

It’s clear that Maxiell, Stuckey and Johnson are NBA material, which makes them 90% percentile in the summer league. The question is how they can contribute to a championship caliber team. Stuckey is going to face much, much, much tougher defense than he did in that montage (which is to say, he will face defense).

Man oh man, the Piston reserves are going to kick some major asses this fall. I really want to see Amir Johnson driving pass LeBron James to put that name to rest.

It’s good to see a solid core of young talent! It’s proven difficult for most teams to transition once the veteran players retire or lose their effectiveness, but this group seems like they may be able to maintain the Pistons’ talent level.

Detroit is a lock to take home the trophy next year. If C-Webb don’t come back I think we should start Amir at center, he could be like Amare on the Suns. Did Amir cut all his hair off?

    john,

Amir most definitely shaved the rows

The guys looked GREAT out there…we’ll see if they can play like that in a full 82 game season plus playoffs…

Also, Beautiful lay-up by Afflalo @ :38 secs on the clip…i hope he lives up to the Late First Round pick…
