We’ve already talked at length about Bill Walton, but here’s a bit of funny trivia: “ESPN’s play-by-play man and analyst are not in Las Vegas. They are calling the game action from a studio in Bristol, Conn., a continent away.” Have they disclosed this at all on the air? Do they need to? It seems deceiving. (via AA)

Finally, absolute proof that Bill Walton’s analysis is that of a man who isn’t even IN the stadium. I KNEW IT.
Though admittedly I also theorized that he wasn’t watching the games either but hey…….half right
They spoke with Walton in studio recently on ESPNNews about the FIBAs on the day of or the day after one of the games. They mentioned at the very beginning of the interview that Walton had been in Bristol when calling the games. They haven’t exactly been trying to hide it. PG4L, I still want answers on what it is that Acker’s aesthetic does for you though.
Oh, absolutely nothing I was just trying to say SOMETHING positive to get CACK off my back inbetween watching unispiring 30 second clips of Acker in Greece…
no really. I mean I guess he has high cheekbones but whatever… personally I think Sheed is beautiful but people have declared him the ugliest man in the NBA so my guess is my general “asthetic” tastes aren’t exactly norm. Still, I really was just making that up to try and say something positive.
the best part of that is the fact that a couple times during the days Bill Walton has commented on the weather in Las Vegas… but I guess you don’t have to be there to do that
You could kind of tell. The audio levels between crowd and announcers didn’t seem right - like those taped Euroleague games they “host” on NBATV. Now all we need is some of those jerky web cam interviews, too.
I have wondered why ESPN never showed the broadcasters during the game. I guess this explains it, but it seems really strange. Do they not trust Bill Walton in Las Vegas for 12 days?
