Do you ever wonder what life would have been like had Isiah Thomas not been denied a front office job with the Pistons after he retired? Be grateful, people.

Hilarious…Miss Gossip is awesome.
Isiah is still gangsta. But Joe D is CLASS.
Isiah was a helluva baller. He’s even done pretty good things when he’s had a say in drafting players and for the most part he’s done well in his coaching career. Everything else about him is regrettable, especially the behaviors that have been examined in this case. Gangsta? Probably. Scumbag? Definitely.
This must be the only sports message board in the world that doesn’t have chauvinism on tap. Where are the people who are defending Thomas and saying what they said about Kobe: “Who wouldn’t want to sleep with Kobe? He’s rich and tall and an NBA player.” Is it because Thomas is older?
Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s nice that we’re taking this seriously, I’m just puzzled that there’s no one defending his behavior with Boys Will Be Boys or: “She’s just looking for a paycheck.” Of course, this is only the fourth post…
Oh that is a good video - haha!
Lmao…o man, thats ridiculous.
PDX, meeting Isiah and hearing stories from a handful who knew him back in the D, I gathered that it’s pretty hard to actually like the guy unless you’re a sycophant and/or misogynist. All I ever heard about him were the things that basically came out during the trial. I heard that he was an arrogant, phony, womanizing misogynist. Clearly from his treatise on the words “bitch” and “ho” we know he’s a real enlightened fellow.
The nature of the accusations made the Kobe situation just that much more difficult to swallow. Isiah wasn’t accused of anything that is criminal in nature, just generally boneheaded and terribly slimy. His transgressions were ones that were neither violent or physically intimidating in nature. It’s a lot easier to feel comfortable coming down hard on a guy who’s accused of harassment as opposed to rape, especially since Isiah has now been found liable by a jury and Kobe never even went on trial. Misjudging someone on rape is not so cool; there are 3 former Duke lacrosse players who can vouch.
Yup, Lawyerboy, I agree. The worst case scenario for people who have worked in the realm of preventing sexual assault is a false report. It is devestating to the credibility of actual survivors and one of the main reasons that rape is so difficult to prosecute. The false reports almost always (the Duke case being an exception) get more attention than the legitimate ones, especially if the accused is famous/powerful/rich. I look at Kobe and I see someone who matches the profile of a “Nice Guy” rapist as well as Michael Jackson matches the profile of a Child Regressive Pedophile.
Oh, and it doesn’t take a sexual harrassment suit to make me glad that the Pistons aren’t the Knicks. (Title of post)
Yeah, I also absolutely envision that Kobe could be that guy. But I’d hate to be wrong, because then you basically ruin lives (Are you listening Mike Nifong?).
