this is the most ridiculous list ive ever seen...including jason kidd on a list of overrated players is THE MOST ABSURD DECLARATION I HAVE EVER HEARD IN ANYTHING BASKETBALL RELATED IN MY LIFE- it seems pretty obvious that ur argument for him is flawed anyways, as u say he carried a team of three "great players" to a whopping 45 wins- but just b4 that u were saying how jefferson isn't good at all, and we all know vince's propensity to dissapear in crucial situations- so u really deflated ur own point by previously suggesting that jefferson isn't even that good- PLUS he missed half the year anyways- also their 4th best player, Kristic, missed almost the entire year- hell i don't even like the nets, but jason kidd is one of the better pgs to ever play the game- i think you will also find deron to become elite soon enough, i guess theres no way to disagree with u on speculation, but asking how its even possible to suggest that his career path will be different from andre millers after a whopping 2 seasons is also just unbelievably flawed- how in the hell could you possibly know his career trajectory after 2 seasons??? i liked JO on the list, and even though im a bulls fan i can agree with wallace from a financial standpoint, but as someone pointed out this isn't exactly a all-overpaid list- and even though im a die-hard Lakers fan i can understand the inclusion of odom, i guess im just hoping he proves u wrong- the inclusion of redd is also pretty ridiculous, although his floor game lacks a bit, this bucks team was devasted by injuries last year, redd included- with the lack of injury notations on this list i would be shocked to discover u actually watched much basketball at all

Iverson and K.G are 1st ballot H.O.F. And the only person that thinks Bynum is good is Lakers front office, Therefor not overratted, 98.6% of people would not pick him to begin with. And while M. Redd is a soild shooter, thats all he is, a solid shooter.

While I very much agree with Sauce that this thread has jumped the shark, 118 (now 119) posts on a thread at DBB, and a thread that was mentioned on ESPN.com (technically TrueHoop) and one that features an abundance of non-Pistons fans? Very impressive. I think we should stop and give a kudos to Mr. Kevin Sawyer *polite applause*. As for weighing in on the topic, gotta go with Sauce and say it's jumped the shark so no need.

Let it never be forgotten that there once was a team that started Kerry Kittles, Todd MacCullough, and Kieth Van Horn that reached the NBA Finals. This same team feature Aaron Williams, Lucious Harris, and Jason Collins as prominent rotation players. Jason Kidd is not overrated, he is a first-ballot hall of famer.

This post has officially jumped the shark.

Kidd's solid, but one could put Billups, Nash, or any over-30 point guard in that slot and make a case for it. You drama llamas. All of them are great players, even if they are overrated.

Redd plays defense? He never did that every time Detroit's smoked his team and I watched it with glee. Just like Yi probably won't be doing as many windmill dunks as he does in NBA 2k8.

Redd's about the same as Ray Allen. He didn't play D that well, either.

Marcus Camby can't stay healthy. Over his career, he averages 56 games per year during the regular season. One could say the same for Allen Iverson.

Ben Wallace is clearly overrated. He's not worth 60 million. He helped Chicago to a next round of playoffs. He'll be helping himself to more bench as his wrist problem will never get better because he refuses to miss time to get it reconstructed. He was a broken player when Detroit landed him. Detroit milked him for plenty of production. Chicago's paying him the retirement money. Thanks for that.

not the dumbest thing ever posted at dbb -- that honor remains with ian, on multiple counts -- but this is right up there.

jason kidd, over-rated. yeah right. only someone not writing seriously, or a clueless asshat, would float that.

in an age of incredible scrutiny, few players are truly over-rated by anyone other than half-drunk fans talking shit in bars and livingrooms... which is where this article should have begun and ended.

Money gets thrown around the NBA all the time. There are tons of bad contracts all around the league, that doesn't necessarily mean people consider them overrated. I would throw that money at a guy who shoots that well too, especially when they would have lost him for nothing to the Cavs...
