Pistons launch five-game road trip in Seattle

I’m not entirely sure what’s going on in that video either, either, but the Pistons are in Seattle tonight so this is at least tangentially related. The Sonics are 0-6 but that doesn’t necessarily bode well for Detroit — these guys are pros and don’t appreciate getting embarrassed, a lesson the Pistons learned last week in Chicago. Plus, the Sonics have been competitive, losing to the Jazz on Friday by only two.

The game starts at 9pm and is being shown locally on TV20 and nationally on NBA TV. Until then, be sure to hit up the Sonics’ official site, where I make a cameo answering a few questions about the Pistons. And as usual, feel free to hit up the comments with any thoughts from the game.

I was a little worried about this game, but the 10-2 start sure makes me feel better.

Jarvis Hayes can’t be stopped — eight points in seven minutes? Nice.

Even better: an Amir Johnson appearance in the first half.

This is frustrating. Instead of stepping on their throat and putting this thing away early (like the Clips game), we’ve let them right back in the game. Ugh.

Also, not having Blaha call the game kinda sucks. I wish you could have a choice on which announcing crew you wanted to listen to on League Pass.

Yay, a Flip Murray cameo at the point in a 5 point game with 9 minutes to go. I hope Saunders is sending a message, “you guys want to diddle around, fine, then I’m gonna kill EVERY possession for you and make it easy.”

Hayes stuck a big 3 while I was venting. SHEED TOO! Come on, hang on!

First time I’ve sworn at Flip Saunders so loud in the bar the wait staff asked me to keep it down this year….. many more expected.

Actual quote “Oh dear christ here we go again with the “omfg they’re actually coming back on us… wtf do I do now? I know, put the third string PG in.”

    *weeps*

i didn’t realize the sonics were good at free throws…:(

Oh thank gosh that was starting to scare me. Shower now.

Hard to get too pissed in a victory. Positives, Rip’s play and Jarvis Hayes who has absolutely no conscience (in a good way). He’s an enormous upgrade over Delfino. I can’t wait for Stuckey to get back.

That was stressful to watch. Oh well, chalk up another win. We need Stuckey back so Saunders doesn’t have an excuse to put Murray at PG.

Phew. It’s good to have Rip and Chauncey at the end of games. Both shoot free throws well.

Right now imho Bullethead is looking like the player Washington tried to draft. Not to tease them or anything but if he stays healthy they’re going to hate having let him walk for nothing.

Just reading ESPN before bed (late start always throws off my sched) and came across this line:

“The Knicks turned it over again trying to get the ball into Eddy Curry”

Am I the only one visualizing the Knicks trying to get Eddie Curry to eat the ball? *grins*

    5-1 baby go Pistons!

That’s not a very comforting win, but a road win is a road win.

To be fair, Murray is our second string guard at both positions, but our bench was awful. 28 points on 35% shooting and 12 fouls. 12 fouls? Against Luke Ridnour and Nick Collison? LaMarcus Aldridge is going to go bananas. Pistons are going to need their ‘A’ game on Tuesday.
