The Knicks have become something of a joke in the media (not that I mind — it certainly makes my FanHouse duties easier), but they get to escape the pressure-cooker that is Madison Square Garden for a quick one-game road trip in Detroit before the holiday.
Two schools of thought for this game: 1) the Knicks mail it in, much like they did last night against the Warriors; 2) they rally around their wounded pride and finally break their seven-game road trip. For the sake of poking fun, I’d like to say the first one will happen, but I honestly have no clue.
The Pistons, meanwhile, will have Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess and back in the fold. And after playing eight of their first 10 on the road, they’re now home for four in a row (and seven of their next 10). See, it all evens out in the end. I’ll be at the Palace tonight, so check out HOOPSWORLD for my pre-game, halftime and post-game observations.

I’m a fan of DBB! Yay!
hmm, i found the celtics game on tvkoo, anyone find the pistons game?

Cant find it either…Anyone have a link for the game tonight?

Good first quarter, they executed their plays very well. Hope we can keep it up.
League pass says no games tonite.
Box score says Chauncey with 10 dimes in the first quarter… and Pistons with 36 points.
Our whole lineup is our bench right now. 2 minutes into 2nd quarter is a little early to go all bench.
I thought the idea of using the bench was to get the rooks some time playing with starters… not just wholesale subbing. Why would you do that when everyone is playing so well? Take them all out of the game?
Yeah we killed our lead with having all 5 players out there being bench. I wouldn’t go more than 3 bench players deep in the lineup in at a time unless we are up big in the 4th. I feel bad hating on Murray, but he just kills our offense out there. Should only a few weeks until we get Stuckey back.
I was liking Murray for a little while. He looked good in the game I attended at Van Andel. He just plays balls out all the time. Problem is he’s only on his game about 20% of the time.
Right now I’d like to see Samb stick around and Murray go away… when Stuckey gets back.
2nd Q salvaged. Thank God. That was really really looking ugly for several minutes.
I think that the team has really lost it’s defensive mind set. Sheed has been playing good ‘D’. Max/Amir/Samb have been trying but just fouling a lot.
Sore knee for Sheed?
Did they say out for the game?
Man… he’s been playing hot too.
Nazr has been missing them free throws pretty bad. I didn’t know about Sheeds knee, hope it isn’t to bad, that’s all we need.
Dyess has 18 points, nice to have him back.
I am rubbing a rabbit’s foot and forgiving Woody Hayes to build up Kharma on Detroit’s behalf as we speak. Secular or not, I’m on it.
Ya Know… this is our 2nd year with Nazr and I can’t remember any interviews, quotes, or anything to help us get to know him. Does he want a bigger role? Is he happy, sad, indifferent? It just doesn’t feel like he’s a real part of the team most of the time. How are the fans supposed to embrace the guy if we can’t get the chance to know him?
I can’t think of anyone on the team that I know less about. Heck… I even knew more about Alex Ackers.
At the end of last season but before the playoffs when Webber was pretty much devouring all the mins at the 5, Mohammed came out and passionately said that if the team didn’t intend to play him they should trade him. He wasn’t really offensive about it and even pointed out that it made NO sense to pay him 30 million bucks to sit on the bench. It wasn’t exactly “letting us in” and at the time I was kinda pissed that our panic FA signing was bitching about playing time……..however, looking back it did establish his pride as a baller and give me some CLUE that he has a pulse still.
I know that’s not alot, but I swear this DID happen.
I’m sure Nazr isn’t too thrilled, he went from being a starter to barely even getting bench minutes. He has been a good sport about it though. We also need him for guarding against bigger guys like today. He did a pretty good job of defending the paint against the Knicks bigs.
Yep… I remember that. Delfino was pulling the same crap (after translation) but I didn’t really feel like I knew him all that well either. I chalked it up to language barrier.
I could look it up but how long is Nazr’s contract? I don’t think we’ll be keeping him any longer once it’s over. That’ll be some good money to free up.
What a train wreck of a roster in NY. I wouldn’t take 10 of their players for free if you offered them to me. Only Jared Jeffries and David Lee play anything close to winning NBA basketball (ie, plays on both ends of the court).
Tbranch: Nazr’s stuck on Detroit, and Detroit’s stuck on him, well, until early 2011, unless Joe can dial-a-sucker and ship him in trade for a gigantic waste of space with a lesser amount of time on the deal.

Which is exactly why we should have resigned Ben Wallace as well for 64 Million, so we could package him and Nazr now to the Knicks for a 1st rounder and David Lee. Without Ben the deal falls through because Zeke only trades for 60 million in salary at a time baby.
