Good, thats what he gets for being a sellout. Ben Wallace is a has-BEN. We made him what he was, and thats the kind of respect we get by leaving us. He could have been an icon here with his name on the floor eventually. Oh well, all about the almighty dollar now.Enjoy being in trade rumors for the rest of your career.
well i still want his number 2 be retired here
LET’S GO PISTONS AND LET’S GET THAT SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2007-2008 IT’S OUR TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALL BOUT DETROIT BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wasn’t he wearing number 3 here?
The way I see it, Ben Wallace was seriously underpaid while he was here, the way he was the heart of the team and helped lift the Pistons from a nobody team to a serious contender. His number does deserve to be retired eventually. The money he is getting now he earned, and now he can sit back and enjoy it.
Lets us not forget that while we were making him what he is, he was making us what we are. I think it’s obvious we’re better off without him and he’s better off with (essentially) his retirement check. Besides, is “become an icon in Detroit” really high on many people’s to-do lists?

sorry, interweb troubles
The Ben Wallace situation was obviously good for both parties. Who knows if Ben has genuine regret over it, but it’s easy to regret when your team is doing bad.
Let’s ask him again in April when the Bulls get things figured out (they will,) are running through people and worrying Pistons fans about the playoffs.
Hahaha… That’s funny. Worried about the Bulls. Nice joke.
::sobbing::
Peter- DG4L was saying she wanted his number to (2) be retired, not his “number 2″ to be retired
I also agree with Kyle (3 times over!!) that it wasn’t just the Pistons that made him what he is. I think he had a pretty big part in that whole thing- especially since he brings a very specific skill set- if he didn’t bring the energy, he wouldn’t have been the great player/leader for us that he was.
And I don’t feel bad for him- he chose what he thought was important at the time, but I also don’t feel bad that he’s not here anymore- it’s pretty clear his skills are declining.
I’m really glad he (sort of) admitted his mistake. He could of just lied or just ignored the question all together. His statement has surprisingly lifted some of the resentment towards his actions he made a couple summers back.
Maybe we can stop hearing about this Buckwheat chump sometime this decade.
It’s over. He pooched it. Why should we walk with his ghost?
Because we’ll see him at least four times a year for a while to come.
And it’s more fun than hating on Darko.
